CHLORINE

Pool Chlorine – Water Sanitizer & Disinfectant

Pool chlorine is a chemical disinfectant used to maintain clean, safe, and hygienic water conditions in swimming pools, spas, and hot tubs. It works by killing harmful microorganisms—such as bacteria, viruses, and algae—through oxidation, making the water safe for swimmers and preventing the spread of waterborne diseases.

Available in multiple forms—tablets, granules, liquid, or powder—pool chlorine is the most effective and widely used sanitizer in both private and commercial aquatic facilities.

Chemical Forms of Pool Chlorine

FormCommon CompoundUse Case

TabletsTrichloroisocyanuric Acid (TCCA) 90%Slow-release, long-term maintenance

GranulesSodium Dichloroisocyanurate (SDIC)Quick-dissolving shock or daily use

LiquidSodium Hypochlorite (10–12% NaOCl)For commercial or automated systems

PowderCalcium Hypochlorite (Cal-Hypo)High-strength shock chlorination

 Key Benefits

  • Powerful disinfection – Kills bacteria, viruses, algae, and biofilm

  • Maintains water clarity – Oxidizes organic matter and body oils

  • Long-lasting – Stabilized chlorine resists UV breakdown in sunlight

  • Flexible dosing – Available in fast-acting or slow-dissolving forms

  • Compatible with feeders – Tablets work with floating or inline dispensers

Flocculant – Pool Water Clarifier

Flocculant (also known as a pool clarifier) is a chemical additive used in swimming pools to clear cloudy or turbid water by binding together fine suspended particles (dust, oils, organic debris, dead algae) into larger clumps—or "flocs"—that can be easily removed by vacuuming or filtration.

Flocculants are particularly useful after heavy bather use, algae treatments, or environmental contamination (e.g., rainstorms, pollen).

Algicide – Algae Control for Pools and Spas

Algicide (or algaecide) is a chemical solution designed to prevent and eliminate algae growth in swimming pools, spas, fountains, and water features. It disrupts the cellular structure of algae, stopping reproduction and allowing the pool’s filter and chlorine to clear the water effectively.

Algicides are especially useful in warm weather or in shaded, stagnant areas where algae thrive.

Jacobi Activated Carbon

Jacobi Carbons is the world’s largest coconut shell–based activated carbon manufacturer, offering a comprehensive portfolio of high-grade adsorbents. Their activated carbon products are available in granular, powder, extruded, spherical, or felt cloth forms—and tailored for applications ranging from water treatment and air purification to industrial chemical processing and condensate polishing. Jacobi also offers mobile filter services and spent carbon reactivation, helping support sustainable usage and reduced waste.
